Kafi is a South Asian musical form with its origins steeped in Sufism; the lyrical content is devoted to mysticism and can be performed within the classical or folk domain. The genre is extremely popular in the regions of Punjab and Sindh.
A senior disciple of the late Ustad Lal Khan, Ghulam Abbas is well versed in khayal, thumri, kafi and ghazal. Tabla accompaniment is by Amir Ali.
