You could be right, but clips I've seen of "Sir Charles" were slapstick and walking more upright. The stand-in wearing this gorilla costume almost looks real. Von Sternberg would want nothing but the best for his Marlene.

MARLENE is mercurial...i have read where she has both praised...and severely critized YOU KNOW WHO...but DIETRICH herself said that the only person who could do a remake of ANY of her movies..most notably THE BLUE ANGEL .
..and do it justice is....TINA TURNER...and of course MADAME IS CORRECT...TINA would do an EXCELLENT JOB...

Love Marlene Dietrich and the movie but incredibly disturbed how they depicted the black bartender. Either way I think Marlene is a kind of her own always setting trends even back then which no Hollywood actress would think about doing.
