I saw a good buy on ebay for a RSP-1068 ($686USD), so I bought it today to replace the receiver I was using as a pre-pro to make these vids thus far; it should be here in a week or so. I am hoping that it is all that it's cracked up to be. I vaguely remember the RSP-1098 & 1095 & CDM 9NT/CM6 I auditioned in 2002. I'll make a quick vid of it when it gets here. It should remove any trace of harshness left, although you'd never notice the diff over youtube.

Well folks that cheapie ebay processor I bought, blew up in a puff of smoke last night and I think it took the amp with it. Good thing my sub's are on a completely isolated signal path. I still want to buy the sdx-15 but it won't come with good treble until I can sent this junk in for repairs. All the speakers survived with no prob's I can detect thus far. I guess it's time to invest in a PS Audio PPP. This stuff gets expensive fast when it goes wrong...

It got up to 33 degrees Celsius today which is 91.4 degrees Fahrenheit, a good temp for a Canadian spring... I think that's what cooked it. I have no idea what the previous owner did to it but judging from the wear, probably nothing good! The unit blew up on power-on, I wasn't even listening to it.

The LT/1300 is being shipped today. The 1075 survived the RSP-1068 melt-down. I opened the processor and didn't see any burn marks but one of the power transistors and two large capacitors were exessively hot... smells like burnt gunpowder. I will have to contact a local dealer and see what the repair cost will be (not happy).

A Digital RadioShack SPL meter, I cracked the back of the SPL meter open and power it with 6v/300ma DC converter with alligator clips at the battery terminals. This feeds into a monster cable mono to stereo spliter into a Asus P5LD2 Deluxe Realtek HD ADC at 44.1khz @ 16bit with Windows Movie Maker at Highest setting... nothing special.

The playback soundcard is an Creative X-FI Xtreme Music in bit-perfect audio creation mode output, feeding the processor directly via a Monster Ultra THX 1000 digital coax.
Interconnects are also analog Ultra THX 1000's.
Speaker wire is 8ga (silver coated copper) Acoustic Reasearch Master series with DIY Monster banana QuickLock tips via good old superglue and a knife.
Subwoofers are feed from the analog out of X-FI into a BFD in stereo. LFE(.1) requires a manual wire reconfiguration.

Ok, I just bought an ECM8000 microphone and an EuroRack UB1002FX phantom power, it has hardware clip meters and a much higher dynamic range, also a much flatter response. Will post ASAP (1068 still broken using temp HTR-5560).

The SDX-15 and ED LT/1300 is now here, tested it and it works. The amp seems a bit underpowered, although I think it is seeing a 7ohm load because I used too thin wire at first. I am gonna re-wire it and see if it doesn't get closer to xmax at a true 4ohm.

I will buy a BenQ W500 projector tomorrow morning (if the store is open). Normally it would be a no brainier, but the company I work for is slowly going bankrupt so its a 50/50 chance.
This would be my first real "TV" in this system, it's 720p and should project ~106inches. I don't have a screen yet so I will just test it on the drywall for now.
I am also looking closely at the Asus Xonar HDAV1.3, as a new soundcard for outputing HDCP HDMI 1.3a HD audio/video from my PC.

I landed a new job as a senior developer in the core data technology team at the state lottery corporation. The project I am working on is state-of-the-art and has a budget of $65 million. I must pass a security clearance test, but it looks like they want me to start Aug 5th. I am required to move 400km away, which means you won't hear from me for some time; I will be forced to dismantle my system to the new location. They offer 58% more then what I was making before. It's not 100% official yet.

It is the N series, I believe it is some sort of aluminum alloy. I am afraid of getting the diamonds because I heard they can shatter in some cases and are costly to fix if so. Obviously metal doesn't shatter, so it was the safer and cheaper option for me thus far.
