She needs to show more emotion and passion.
I guess it should be better if Toshi sang it.
Because the women doesn't have something in common with Hide.

Sometimes the singer is required and instructed to do what he or she is asked to do and that may result in lack of emotion. Sorry you felt this way but wasn't her doing this time.

That's because Hide is Hide and who would ever try to emulate the greatness of Hide. However you must consider that sometimes singers must follow the instruction of the producer and not intrude his dream!!! I would never dare do that. So sorry you didn't enjoy his dream!!!!!

I don't think Yoshiki would instruct something like "you can't do this, don't show this".
She should have at least think about how Yoshiki might have felt about losing Hide. Put herself in Yoshiki'd shoes. She should bring these feelings to her performance.
Intruding on your producer's dream is not an excuse. Yoshiki's not that kind of person.
He makes such beautiful music, full of emotions so why wouldn't he want this portrayed in the singer's voice and performance?

actually yoshiki does make beautiful music and it would be a shame for the vocalist to disprespect it by over dramatizing it. It's classical music not pop and it is of my opinion that she had to work with him and he had to approve it before releasing it. so unless you were there and you know him personally perhaps you don't understand how all of that works.

Well you don't have to dramatize to show the emotion in what your singing. I just meant that as a singer she should be able to reach out to her audience and in this performance she stop short of that. She sings great but the emotion doesn't seem to be there.

To everyone who think the singer could have sung better:I agree with that. BUT,it was a TV show in Japan, which must have been quite intimidating. Plus she's quite young,and I think she doesn't have reached yet what she could in terms of vocal power. And this song is meant to be sang in a low voice:it's really hard to give everything you have when you can't release all of your vocal power - everyone will have noticed how it gets better from "lurid sky" Listen to the EM2 version,it's much better!

Anyone else notice the lyrical similarities between this song and the song "White Poem" by X? In WP, the lyrics are "Love will find the way; this is the line you used to love. Do you still believe that? While I'm away, read this line again." While at the end of this song, the lyrics are "Give me the strength to believe the words that love will find a way." I wonder if they were inspired by the same person. Yoshiki has been writing songs for VUK since X, after all.

the texts from vuk are the darkest and sadest yoshiki has ever written one reason for that is surely the death of hide, like i think...it's just, that he lost a person, who was very important for him....
the saddest text i know from yoshiki is screaming blue.....
