Jonny Olsen- The first "Farang Khaen Player Champion" won in Khon Kaen, Thailand 2005. Also the first "Farang" to make an album singing "Mawlum Glawn and Lum Sing." What used to be called lai yao is now lum sing. Lai Yao is from Mawlum Glawn and back then there was only a singer and a khaen player. Now Mawlum Sing involves more instruments like a guitar, bass, keyboards, and a saxaphone. Plus many cute dancers. Lum Sing is an E-sarn favorite.

I'm playing want they call khaen bpaed(8) Which means eight tubes on each side. Lai noi is C minor and Lai Yai is G minor. This is the khaen most commonly used in Morlum.

That is what Lum Sing is. It has western influences in it. Lum Nyao originated from Lum Glawn and developed into what is now called Lum Sing. They called it "sing" because they took off the part of an english word "racing." The Isan people used the word sing to describe the quicker tempo. The Isan people also took a lot of songs from the western world and mixed them in.
