True hip hop at it's finest. I still cannot believe that hip hop has "devolved" instead of evolving". The evolution of hip hop ended in the late 90's, or early 2000's. The commercialization of hip hop has added to it's dilution. There is no focus on the lyrical content, or the beats anymore. Most of the artists in the game now is competing for who has the most butt-shaking sisters and who is the most narcissistic. The only realm in which hip-hop is still strong is underground.

I think true rappers are an endangered species. Rap is going to become so commercial that there will be a generation of young people that believe that commercial rap is the true and only representation of hip-hop. The underground will remain, but they don't have the money and influence and labels behind them that can push them mainstream. I don't know if there is much hope.
