This shouldn't have any thumbs downs. It's true, she didn't have that much experience, and most people don't seem to realize that Rossum is no opera singer. She tried to sing these as if they were pop songs.

This part just annoys me. No director in their right mind would like a person sit the middle of the fucking stage for four minutes just singing, unless it were a recital. Opera, no. Also, Rossum's posture is completely out of time period for both what Christine and her character in the play. And if she were saying goodbye to someone she wouldn't be smiling the entire freaking time. I like Emmy Rossum as an actress, but she should never have been cast as Christine.

There's no way she'd be able to go that high spreading her vowels and constricting her throat the way she does. If you're going to lip-sync to a recording of yourself, lip-sync like you sang it originally. I sang this song and I had to drop my jaw to get the proper full sound that those notes require.

I love negative comments and advice given on here. If you are writing comments on youtube you are obviously not very talented and Emmy Rossum doesn't take professional singing advice from youtube viewers. Since you didn't make it maybe you should be taking notes instead of making comments.
