NOPE its 1969, this is just after she left the Stone Poneys and went solo.
Just before she hit it big in 1974. Linda Ronstadt has had a long, and varied career over SEVERAL decades. Read her Wikipedia to see the chronology of this amazing womans career.

Never heard this by Linda till now.... Impecable as always.I like it very much.I agree when Linda sings a song she owns it...it becomes hers.I love this woman so MUCH!!! It's 1970 or 1971, since she was just nominated for a grammy award, as Johnny Cash stated. Not being picky, just stating the logical conclusion, since none of her other work was nominated. "Long, Long Time" was the first of many more to follow!

Wow, this was the first song I ever bought as a record when i was in 6th grade. The Merry Go Round, even over the Beatles. I loved this 45, and also the other hit "LIVE" by the band.
Never heard Linda sing this, but I dig linda too, her voice is one of the best ever of all female vocalists

This song gives me the willies. Brings to mind "XY and Z", a film around that time starring Michael Caine, Susannah York, and Elizabeth Taylor. A vicious film about alcoholics in a menage a trois. Fun to watch though if not only to make you feel grateful you're not them. But I love Linda Ronstadt and although this song is creepy she's good like always.

A little more on that film (from wikipedia...but they left out that the character Susannah York plays--Stella--was kicked out of a monastery as a nun due to a lesbian relationship. Susannah York was "A Very Beutiful Woman" in this film. Yet Elizabeth Taylor had the best line when she compares her full figure to York's and says (paraphrasing): "But at least when he's with me in the dark he knows he's with a woman.")

I misused the term menage a trois in a post here yesterday. Thought it meant three people involved a love relationship, but apparently the definition is more specific to mean three people living together while being involved together sexually. That wouldn't quite apply to "X, Y and Zee" even though Elizabeth Taylor Susannah York became involved (as a means of Taylor hurting her).

I wanted to edit the part referring to Susannah York (in film X, Y and Zee) as "A Very Lovely Woman" as I botched it below.
