Jeffrey Dommer was an Athias. Bill Mahr should not use the actions of a few to define a whole group of people. The true purpose of religion is to unify humanity. If it it not use for that purpose then it is not true religion. People also use religion to unify people for evil. The same way people use TV to broadcast violence and pornagraphy. That doesnt mean that TV shouldnt be watched. So just because some poeple misuse religion doesnt mean that religion is bad.

Why do religous people have this need to convince themselves that atheists want what they have. WE DON'T! We're not longing for a 'connection with the lord', because we don't believe the sales pitch. People today see ancient greek religion as myth. I cant wait until the same can be said for current religion. Its laughable. Dont get me wrong im all for teaching ethics and morals and this is a valuable part of religion. The rest however is complete bollocks, jesus, buddha etc. didnt and dont exist in the same way that zeuss never existed.
