Think of it this way, you release four colours, white, black, red and blue....
You ship out equal ammounts of all the colours. And the red one sells out rapid! Imagine its so popular that it puts people off buying because they say to themselves "Aww I want that red one!" Having one colour to start with, should mean faster sales at first.

All the playstation and x-box fans say about nintendo is that its to childish. Well seriously some day they have to start figuring out that nintendo beats all of their consols, and that stop saying its always kidish when its not, nintendo is just colorful and much funner than any playstation or x-box game has to offer.
