In Russian the word MOLITVA is also exists. And it means PRAYER. In russian version of this song Marija sings MOLITVA but not "sud`ba" ("destiny" in russin).

wow..i love this version..now i have to learn this one too...i almost learned the serbian version and i'm romanian..i love searbian language..i actualy know some expressions in serbian like "Hvala" is "thank you" no???..i'll do my best to learn serbian

molitva is prayer and sudbina is destiny in serbian... obviously they had to change the wording for it to sound decent, singing the word prayer in english wouldnt sound right...

yea well u cant really translate everything word for word it would sound wierd.....trust me...i no about 5 languages and u cant translate everything word for word....it would be totaly off beat and sound like crap

Although I couldn't fully understand the song without the translation, it is much better in its original version. The way Marija sings it, you don't really need a translation, especially in the Eurovision version, she has so much feeling there. Beautiful song.

I love this song!! I prefer the original serbian, but as I'm still learning Serbian, it's helpful to hear the english version too even though I know that it inevitably looses some meaning with traslation. It truley is a beautiful and powerful song.

True. You can find both the translation and the English version at Diggiloo (they're actually quite different, but both are very nice. I used to think this song an unworthy and strange winner, but it's really grown on me since).

use your mind, how the hell can you sing "Prayer" in the melody of "Molitvaaaaaaaaaaa" it would be like "Prayerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" plus it just wouldnt sound as good as Destiny. Mo-lit-va (3 syllables) Pray-er (2 syllables) Des-ti-ny (3 syllables) get what im saying? anyway i like both versions.
