Wow! This is truely unbelievable. While unable to hit the High E, she puts her own unique, and beautiful, spin on this wonderful aria. Thank you for this amazing operatic morsel.

although her high register sounds a bit falsetto-placed in my ears, i must confess that with this aria i can imagine the placement Horne's voice had back in early 60s as soprano.
the low E though sounds rather uncomfortable (it is in the baritone area ofc)
very interesting reading of the aria indeed by a contralto coloratura

Yeah, the high notes sound contralto or dramatic mezzo to me. Not falsetto, but remind me of myself (a high tenor) touching those high notes, like you can tell it's a fatter darker voice producing them, not a soprano, don't know how to explain it.
