OMG! Please people... Just relax. Music is all a personal taste thing. Especially, it would seem, Florez. Nothing is incontrivertible, and the first thing a musician should be taught is that everybodies opinion is as valid as your own. The next thing you should be taught is that Fischer-Dieskau negates this rule, if you don't like him then you're not human. :)

i agree with you Justelipse, Florez have a very beautiful voice but Rockwell Blake is fantastic and nobody can sing Rossini like him. Blake is the best tenor of the world.

Nice voice, easy upper register but weak breath control and poor phrasing. Bruce Ford and Rockwell Blake are much, much better with this kind of repertoire.

Fantastic singer who has everything: phenomenal technique, innate musicality, and tons of charisma. Although the voice is not big, it's very focused and projects incredibly well in large theaters like the Met. I heard his NYC recital debut a few years ago and was blown away - he is a real communicator and the singing was on the highest level imaginable.

I dunno. He does it well, I prefer Stanford Olsen's version of this aria. The coloratura section makes me seasick with all those ritards in it. But that's just my opinion.

I never listened him live, then can't judge his volume, but for the rest, tanto di cappello! This performance is electrifying and shows that the a warm emotional singing in this repertoire does not mean a minus of elegance and style. Un grande applauso, bravo Diego!

NO one - absolutely NO one in tenor history could sing Rossini's music like this. Juan Diego Florez is a a true "tenore di grazia", with a coloratura technique that matches the sheer beauty of his voice. He's a rare bird - there hasn't been a tenor like him since the days of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti. His was the type of voice they wrote their tenor roles for. Florez is an operatic miracle.
