I totally agree with you, but I reckon the playstation obviously couldn't handle the graphics... too bad for us, but at the time of the actual game's release could we ask more than what they did? For me they made a perfect job considering the console's performances ..

i disagree, everything about it doesnt look good, the cut scenes maybe, but gameplay looked sluggish and camera angles not great, glad it turned out the way it did :D just my thoughts of course

Cutscenes are clearly pre-rendered, the draw-distance is crap. Good lighting, and pretty good close-up graphics.

Uuh dude... by origin they meant the original concept for Metal Gear Solid in the PlayStation, and no, Metal Gear did not commence in Nintendo, but on the MSX computer.

maybe it would have looked better on N64, but it would have had cheap sound effects and no real life footage. plus cartridges were expensive to make, and they couldn't really fit it all on one cartridge. plus N64 was not as popular as PS1 so, the game wouldn't have been as high in demand.

the ps1 can easily produce these graphics. keeping them at a steady frame rate and not having to make it on 23 discs is the real problem. if you want an idea of how powerful consoles of this era really were...a game boy advance could remake the opening area of mgs1 with no down scaling. theres a vid on youtube too.

this is not game grafuc, is obviously prerendered... konami cheated us times ago, this is juts a concept if how the game was going to be. That graph, i repeat, is prerendered, a FMV, ^_^ the resolution of the textures and number of polys are far way too high than the actual mgs for ps1 8)

some of it was pre-rendered (ninja) but most of it looked like in-game graphics, would still love to play this version
