I will say that this is a wonderful song, however Mozart did not write this song! Muzio Clementi wrote it way before this opera was even written, and Mozart Used it in his opera. The real name of this song is Sonata in B-Flat Major, Op.24, No.2.

lol, you're obviously a moron with no idea of classical music - it's not a song, first and foremost, secondly, just because one - just one - of the themes is similar doesn't mean A) it's the same B) it's plagiarized. This is not the only coincidence where such similarities have occurred in music, besides, Clementi's music lacks the complex, yet elegant counterpoint Mozart enhances this theme with.

What!!! you are the moron! he is right, this theme was used for either Mozart and Clementi. In the edition states of the clementi sonata in Bb:"This sonata was performed by the composer in front of the Emperor Joseph II in 1781, in the presence of Mozart". This is of course his Op. 24 Sonata. This same year Clementi placed the following next to his Toccata Op.11 in the Breitkopf's 'Oeuvres complettes'

The theme was widely known and used at the time. For example Leopold Kozeluch used the theme in a Piano Trio, It is very possible that Mozart unconsciously remembered the Clementi theme as he was writing the Magic Flute overture (which he wrote AFTER the rest of the opera was completed).

My post didn't exclude the possibility of the fugue theme not being original, but I hope you're not going to claim the whole piece is plagiarized because of that like the guy I called a moron did. Using the themes of other composers was commonplace then, nothing scandalous about it.

Schliess ich mich uneingeschränkt an. Ich hab die Zauberflöte mit 7 zum ersten Mal gesehen und mich in die Musik Mozarts verliebt. Auch wenn ich heute ganz andere Sachen höre - die Zauberflöte und die Hochzeit des Figaro sind IMMER im Auto dabei.

das bühnenbild beginnend bei 3:32 ist einfach so dermasend perfekt. hut ab beleuchtung und hintergrund sind so dermaßend perfekt kombinert, dass es mir eine echte freude bereitet das bild zu pausieren und mir das spektakel ganz genau anzuschauen. dazu eine so geniale musik, einfach herrlich!
