Hakim does play on Kiss my Axe, but I forget which tracks, Global safari and even perhaps this one too. BTW, what is your guess as to the times that the main phrase is running through, I got, 8,8-8,9? The phrasing makes the drumming such a challenge....Fantastic!!

Kiss My Axe is the absolute best CD for demoing stereo equipment that was ever created. I know Al D. made this CD after Columbia dumped him and he had a huge chip on hi shoulder. It's one of the best played and THE best sounding CD ever. (IMHO)

I play drums once a year and understand what you say But then again the guitar players freak out because their music (and stumbles) really sticks out. Thats why they seem to gravitate to the irratic drummers who SEEM to play time butare really imitating time. Check out my video.(my once a year)

Al's got it all on this one - phrasing, tone, dynamics, precision, dead-on timing, rhythm, melodic and harmonic content, and that sweet vibrato. Just saw him this summer with RTF - hasn't really lost a step. No wonder he's the guitar god of the guitar gods.
