Personally, I'm not surprised that efforts have been made once again to deny the world the truth about the seal hunt, by interfering with the Farley Mowatt. But efforts to paint anti-hunt activists as 'in it for the money' are ludicrous. While Hearn had the audacity to say Watson was in a posh hotel room eating steak, the vegetarian was bunking on a friend's couch. Comments like gunners make me WANT to send money to help support the Sea Shepherd in the face of the real BS- from our government.

It is far easier for these people to destroy our way of life here in Newfoundland then look in the mirror face up to those failures to protect the envierment closer to home.
Personally when I get an urge to save the world I grab a garbage bag and go pick up some trash along the beach.
The heaps of filth carried here on the gulf stream from New York where they still dump at sea. Trash from those very same fools who write fat checks to scammers like the Sea Shepherds.

I thought we were fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan in order to stop extremist groups? Maybe we should be fighting g at home to try to stop extremist groups. Extremist groups like PETA and the neo-Nazi anti smokers that want ot blame illnesses on tobacco when the real fact is that we are becoming ill because of the fact that we have polluted the hell out of the ear, air and land. Do a month of searching on pollution if you are not suicidal. Take an honest hard look. If we keep going the way we are going we are going to destroy everything. After WW2 we dumped bombs into the oceans. Sealing is an off-season activity conducted by fishermen from Canada's East Coast. They make, on average, one twentieth of their incomes from seal hunting and the rest from commercial fisheries. Even in Newfoundland, where 90 percent of sealers live, revenues from the hunt account for less than 1 percent of the province's economy and only 2 percent of the landed value of the fishery. Fishermen do not make a living off of this, there is little to NO benefit coming to them from this slaughter.
