Who are "we"? obviously the USA had an interest rebuilding Western Germany´s economy and society because of the communist threat...But by the way the output of engineering masterpieces were so huge during the war that it was just not possible not to use such a vital knowledge for creating a new society after "hour zero"...Obviously there was just forward not backward...By the way Plockmesh...not sure what you mean but yes...the reparation put on germany in WWI was a shame and lead to WWII.

Well, can you blame the people after the outcome of WWI which was not just the result of Germany´s foreign policy? I remember that each european nation was up for a fight with a smile on the face.Again, it was the reparation put on Germany that lead to extremism in a weak democratic Republic after WWI and the economic crises in 1928.Can you blame people who have to bring their families through? I agree that the whole nazi idea was crap but smart the way it manipulated people to follow that idea.

...And just some figures for you...in the election of 1933 when Hitler gained power in the prussian capital Berlin just 1 out of 4 voted the Nazis... After gaining power the movement used resentiments and occultic ideas to pull people on their side..and force of course as a totalitary regime...You are not with us ...you are gainst us...Being against us means denying your roots and could have lead to death...So again...imgine yo have a family to feed and being drafted into compulsary army service

You have no choice and I doubt big times that all the Germans were fullfilled by Hitler´s mission...I had a Grandfather in this war and I know him as a tolerant and respectful person...otherwise my grandma would have not gone for him.....Please think twice before generalizing.And to Hitler´s idiology. It was a movement and a movement is always without a clear goal.Just because someone leads the direction does not create a goal and therefore it was condemned to fail
