no actually i asked a cast member about it, he said that after 9-11 tourism crashed and they stoped building it, and never started again.

isnt this sad....when i asked at Pop Century last month about this, the CM (who was a CP) said that they hadnt decided if they needed any more hotels and this is why they didnt complete it...

just stayed at pop last wknd and had a clear view of the building from my room. real creepy, no matter how many times i see it. i wish they would bring it to life. until then, it's disney dead end resaort.

Freaky. I've never stayed at the Pop Century resort before but if I had to look at that out of my room window I'd be very put-off. This is the kind of run-down crap that you'd expect to see on International Drive, not in Disney World.

I wonder if the Disney folks are considering scrounging their pennies together and finally finishing this resort in the next year or so. It would make sense, considering the slowing economy and no doubt a cry for value resorts. If Disney wants to keep people coming and staying on site, another value lodging would just make sense-- NOT another DVC resort (groan.)

(reply to disney[rincess1990)(my reply on comments wont work:S)well if u can climb without getting seen i noticed that by the 50s area where theeres a building with a fence around it (legendary years hotel) and it ends at the hourglass lake and if u could grab onto it and sorta put 1 leg on 1 side nd one on the other and sorta swing around but i havent tried cuz of secrurity in the parking lot beside it.

The "legal" way would be to simply view it from the Generation Gap bridge or across the pond. Have no idea how the poster got over there, I'd assume it's a security and general well being risk being an unfinished construction project.

Luckily due to it's still being "brown" it's too much of an eye sore from the Classic Years side but taking a stroll down the Generation Gap bridge leaves you with an empty feeling. Never have I seen a Disney project go unfinished for so long.
