haha i remember when i went to new zealand about 2 years ago, on the way to milford sound, we stopped on the side of the road and one of these birds landed on the side mirror and refused to get off.
we ended up having to throw food out the window so it would go away haha. It finally got off for the food, after many attempts of trying to actually get in the car with us.

Absolutely, its a submissive/begging behavior. Many parrots do it and I have even seen juvenile crows do the same. Keas are so amazing, smartest bird on the planet and that's saying a lot.

I noticed that Australia's and NZ's fauna is retarded and goes extict in competition with Eurasiatic animals. I think Kea would be exeption if they only introducted it to Europe.

At Arthur's Pass past the Acquaduct last Saturday during a storm I pulled up to take some photos and one of these birds came up to me and gave me an 18kt gold earring! Obviously stolen from someone else! It flew in when I pulled up with my car and dropped it at my feet and I have a photo to prove it. I am now wearing it. I am from Australia and had never seen these birds before until a friend in Christchurch told me all about them! Cheeky fellas.
