Sorry i thought you know the date round and round came out, well "round and round" came with the EP "Out of the cellar", this EP hit the store in March 1984... SO Fair Warning and Unchained came out in first, but anyway Van Halen are a major influence for the 80's period! But it's strange i don't fell round and round so close than Unchained, they use sus4 chords but not so much it's not the specific melodic/rythm kind of thing use with the sus4 chord ( like Panama, Pinball Wizard, Unchained...)

Sorry Terminalninja, i've answer logged with a friend account. Well i can continue on the melodic/rythm effect with the sus4 chord, the sus4 chord don't have any third, in place of it we have a 4th, so the sus4 chord create a tension for the ears and the auditor wait for a resolution, so that give this kind of melodic/rythm effect, because the song move forward by that tension/resolution system and that give a catchy kind of effect for the auditor more than the I/V7/I, or I/IV7/V7/IV/I etc
