Game shows have changed a lot.
Real Human Drama.
We cant watch people being killed or mutilated, movies like Hostel and Saw have that covered. But we can see real people be phychologically tormented for money. Never mind human dignity and pride, or family happiness you surrender those when you sign on. They have a price, and the price is 500,000$. And the people stay distracted while the empire crumbles.
