There's a story that Joan Crawford told where she was so desperate to meet Garbo, even though they had no scenes together, that she used Garbo's private staircase. According to Joan, Garbo stopped and said, "What a pity. Our first picture together, and we don't work with each other. I am so sorry. You have a marvelous face."
