try and think about the depth of kenyan distance running. There are no guarantees in life, there is no guarantee that you wont get injured or burn out. Look at daniel komen he broke so many world records and burnt out, and running ceased to bring an income for him. Having said this can you blame shaheen for wanting security? he actually has been injured for 2 years now

HE had to pull out of a race this month (July '08). I believe it was a grand prix racek. I forget where it was held.
Shaheen has to make a living. We have Kenyan accountants, doctors, lawyers,\ teachers, engineers e.t.c. working and living abroad. IT is no different.
I love SHaheen. If he stays injury free, he might be better than the greatest of them all, Moses Kiptanui. Shaheen might not be 100% fit for Beijing and that is our blessing coz we'll definetely win it if he doesn't.
