Dawkins fell off the deep edge. atheists look at things "as is". theists, like scientists, look toward the next level of what might be learned. the last thing the world needs is another trouble maker. if he was truly intelligent in the field of philosophy he could have found a better way to reach acceptance. but he wants turmoil. probably planted by the government to keep the masses fighting among each other to keep the focus off their wrong doings. probably why "in God we trust" is on money

I'm with Dawkins all the way in condemning parents for indoctrinating children by labeling them as "christian" or "muslim" (etc) children. They are NOT christian children, they are kids with christian parents ... there is a vast difference. As a psychologist I've seen how the massive cognitive dissonance caused by indocrinating children into these absurd cults leads to psychopathology, drug abuse, depression and suicide. It is at best irresponsible and at worst potentially fatal child abuse.

Faith, faith that i know that Jesus is my Savior and He will take me to heaven. Its really up to you to decide which one is correct i cant force u to belive in the right one but research them and find the one which you think is correct, hopefully you will chose Jesus but thats up to you not me. Dawkins doesnt attack anybody all he presents is an argument that shows there is no logical or reasoned way to believe in God, if you want to believe in God fine, but there is no reasoned truth to it.
on a second note,atheism is a lack of faith, not a faith that god doesnt exist, it doesnt require faith to not believe in santa claus, same goes for god.

The question is not there is a need for God. Dawkin's never said that there was no need to believe in God. However, the problem is people using God to explain everything. Something that rules out lives. Something that is oppressed on us. Something that interfears with human progress and science.

Well yeah, that's pretty obvious. He was likely referring to the "crisis of faith" that swept through Europe in the mid 1800s.
