| Well, you're obviously an expert. You can see that the pilot is flying both a B-52 Stratofortress and a KC-135 Stratotanker. |

| If I remember right, the pilot was near the end of his career for retirement, he was to perform flybys in an airshow within the next day or so. He was known to be a 'show off' and had crew memebers that have refused to fly with him during his military career. After making a low pass he climbed and started making a hard left turn pushing the craft beyond it's flight envelope and possibly stalling one or more of the 'wing low' engines causing the B52 to yaw to the left beyond recovery. |

| Well known disaster area a G stall in a tight turn doomed ,45 degrees of bank maximum and 225 knots would have avoided this .B52s were not designed for this sort of manoevre,VULCANS could hack it at low level the B52 never could |

| well yes, but can you really compare the Vulcan with the B52? The vulcan WAS aerobatic...the B52 was clearly not. As I'm sure you know, the Vulcan was only kept on as an operational bomber for so long due its ability to perform at low level. The Buff was a different kettle of fish altogether. |

| I have seen many excellent displays by th B52,in fact I have flown the B52,BOTH G and H,I have also flown the Convair hotrod B58. It is very sad to see a fellow pilot die.The Vulcan was and still is [558 is now flying again],a superb aeroplane but the targets were well within our range,the BUFF unless stationed in england had a long sortie.All aeroplanes have a flight envelope,exceed this at your peril |

| Actually, the guy was straight and married. He was just very cocky and thought he could do anything with the plane. He was flying too slow, too low, and banked it too steep. The plane lost lift and stalled. I live in Spokane, Washington, where this happened at Fairchild AFB. I know quite a bit about this incident. |
