This is a cut segment from a larger documentary on the brain titled "BBC - Get Smart"; It reveals some of the techniques used by world champion Andi Bell.

Andi Bell isn't an autistic savant, meerly someone who has trained their brain to be able to memorize and codify information in the brain using advanced mnemonic techniques.

To our point of view... no... there is no connection, but Andi taught himself to relate the cards to those specific items. Derren Brown's technique is similar.

Well it cant realy be much developt its just a ability some type of skill, its not something you yourself cant learn to do! Its probably harder to learn so was hard to ride a bike for the first time, but its obviosly worth it!

Kim Peek is a true memory master because he can readily accept novel lists of any size containing any information and need not review them for years.
This guy is still impressive though because he seems average in every other way.

Do some research on the method of loci. I originally found this method from a book by Dominic O'Brien who gives an excellent description of how it's done. It does take practice but any average person who may even have a poor memory can master this technique.
