'A' is horizontal attack, set to 'X' as a default. 'B' is vetical attack, set to 'Y' as a default. 'K' is kick, set to 'B' as default. 'G' is guard, set to 'A' as default. The combinations are just extra combos and stuff.

In SCIV, different buttons are assigned the letters A, B, K, and G. For the 360 it's X=A, Y=B, B=K, A=G (unless you reassign them). They stand for horizontal attack, vertical attack, kick, and guard, respectively.
