I agree that Domingo and Carreras have the Spanish diction that Pavarotti lacks for 'granada'. Just like Pavarotti has the Italian diction that they lack in Italian arias. It is notable that Pavarotti is over 60 in the 1998 three tenors concert while Carreras is in his mid 40's in this performance.
I thought this performance was touching, bravo Carreras
