Some years ago, Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain was asked to comment on a tape recording of a young Rimpa Shiv. He said: "he is about 18 years, plays very well and must not give up." She was 9 years old at the time. The maestro finally saw her perform live when she was 11 and went over and kissed her hands, giving her many tips from diet to playing better.
