Richard Dawkins: An atheist's call to arms

Instead, he launched into a full-on appeal for atheists to make public their beliefs and to aggressively fight the incursion of religion into politics and education (quoting Douglas Adams in the bargain). Scientists and intellectuals hold very different beliefs about God from the American public, he says, yet they are cowed by the overall political environment. Dawkins' scornful tone drew strongly mixed reactions from the audience; some stood and applauded his courage. Others wondered whether his strident approach could do more harm than good. Dawkins went on to publish The God Delusion and become perhaps the world's best-known atheist.

Also, I believe it's much wiser than to donate money to "religious purposes".
Seriously, blind religious people are just disturbing... how can you accept a fairy tale? The ones who take the religion's philosophy I don't mind. It's those who blindly and literally follow the books that scare me. What's worse is that those people are the ones reaching out for new members.
I believe in no gods of any religion, but I'm not saying they absolutely do not exist. I can't prove it wrong, so it's still possible.
But when you look at how specific things like the ten commandments are, it's obvious that man wrote it. We need to get rid of all these religions because they preach as if they know (which they don't...). Just accept the fact that there may or may not be a god. Done.
And yes we're all entitled to our own opinions, so mine is that if you believe in one fairy tale and not the others, especially one as detailed as god/jesus, then you are "delusional".
Another opinion I hold very dearly is that crashoppe seems to be dumber than i thought. Or is that a fact?
God can just as easily be tested as a theory. We have no definitive proof of his/her/its exsistence, except for monuments and testimonials created by human hands. And as is common knowledge, humans can think all sorts of things that aren't true, uneducated or misguided.
It's really about where you're looking from.
Ignorance is in three (things): Arrogance, the intensity of dispute, and the ignorance about God.
The perfection of intellect is in three (things): humbleness for God, good certainty, and silence except for good.
Intellect is the guide of the believer.
