I think Leontyne was my most favorite soprano of all. She sang this song to cater to the mainstream. But who can ever forget her Vissi D'Arte? Ritorna vincitor? That last note in Summertime was beautifully placed!!!! Wow!

Wow - and to think she's supposed to be past her prime here. I've been listening to some of her recordings from when she was younger and I found the placement of each note she sang incredible. A technicians dream. But now I'm really in love with her voice. I hope I can be like her when I grow up!

It is amazing as I listen and look at this video. Ms. Price was and is still such a pioneer. She broke so many barriers that were put up to keep blacks down but look at how music can change and break down those thick walls. She is amazing! To be in the White House singing for the president and to be Black! I love her to death and there is no one like her.

Ever since I was a child, I have loved leontyne's voice. My mother was also a graduate of the Julliard School of Music in NYC, and it was she who first introduced Leontyne's beautiful voice to me. In my opinion, no one will ever equal her!
