Why Macedonian Women wear helmets

Imathia is the oldest place in Macedonia, and is home to Macedonian traditions that date back centuries. In Roumlouki, Alexandria, women are proud to wear their Greek costume that includes a helmet. This dates to the time of Amyntas, who honoured the women in the region because they helped him in a war.

As for attrocities during the Balkan wars, Slavs did just as many as anyone else.
I think that this debate is pointless.
If you are broght up in one culture you represent that culture orientation regardless of your ethnicity.
It is this backwarded nationalism that makes a joke of human progress.
Today with very few exception (Basque)we all are part of Slavic genome and the migration theory in 4/5/6th century is not proven right or wrong.
My points:
1 We know too little to make great assumptions.
3 Another point on genom and ethnicity.
Look how Greek offspring of Alexander the Great look like because these people are more closely related to the Greeks as we like to remember then of those today and compare this look to yorself and the rest of the nation.
So Give It a Break civilazations developed civilazations colapsed not once but hundreds of times and this will be true for ours here in the west.
Once again we will need to learn how to write and again we will forget it because of a virus, meteor, mass desaster, war, whatever.
Cycle of life.
Make friends and not enemies because we already have too many enemies in the world to allow ourself be week internally.
All to often Women are overlooked in the history. In battle they are ruthless and frankly merciless.
Truly scary.
and because of this they have more sense then fight like apes :)
