Jatin-Lalit has given music for 2 most indelible songs of all time Bin tere Sanam-1991 & Pehla Nasha from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander-1992.
Aasif sheikh in 1st song while the Immaculate Aamir Khan in the 2nd Song.
Both films had lead actors whose first 2 letters starts with "AA" but can't compare the career graph of the two.

Yes mite hero name is asif sheikh from yes boss (drama fame) I don't know why director choose him as hero. His character suit in comedy role or vilan type comedy role. That's why film was flopped, but this song is still popular.

I`ve got to say that I disagree with you. Aasif Sheikh initially started acting in films in 1988, as a main-lead actor. He rightfully deserved the position.
The 90`s....famous, famous decade for top-class actors; there were some big names in Bollywood at the time. The survival rate of new actors therefore was very slim and films depended much much more on the starcast than they do nowadays!

When you talk about comedy role, you should be careful about it. If you mean the tonnes of junk released from Bollywood nowadays, full of bitches and half-baked talent, then that`s comedy itself, nevermind the genre itself which are again, comedies nowadays.
Aasif Sheikh would never have fitted those roles. BUT, because he was versatile as an actor, other roles, like the villain-type were given to him back in the early 90`s. Even then, his career failed to materialise.

That`s mainly to do with the high level and complexities of competition amongst actors at the time.
At the time of making for this film, there could have been a chance. SO, it`s nothing to do with his role-type; but rather the circumstances the film was released in.
