What I mean is if you listen to Goldfinger & Diamonds....The orchestration is in competition with what Shirley is singing! How she ever kept in tune with what was going on I will never know ! Listen to it,the orchestration is not for singing with !!!

Dreadful arrangement! Spoiling Miss Basseys voice.Shirley ended Diamonds really well with a change to the original version, which I like but on the whole it was a mix mash of contradiction!

I've been a Shirley Bassey fan since 1965 (I was only 8). Shirley looks gorgeous here, and she is in great voice. However, I think the orchestration of Goldfinger was awful. It sounded like a few musicians were off key. The video was saved by a decent version of Diamonds are Forever.

Bassey is Best!
72 years old this year(2009) on 8th January.
She still looks stunning and has a powerhouse voice to die for.
