happy now? you've made me watch ZJ's clip of this raymonda piece (which i actually saw at lausanne in 2000) at least 30 times in order to fix your incorrect assumption that i was supposedly BS. btw, that ABT SB wont do...we use peter wright's version which is not even the best, but still i think it works better. you can check it out with our Sofiane, NOW SHE has VERY VERY STRONG technique. =)

btw, just out of curiosity, and since u are an ABT balletomane, why did Kevin promote Kajiya and not ZJ soshytoshi?

the reasons i ask is because i dont think kajiya's technique is that much stronger than ZJ's, although i appreciate kajiya more as a dancer, as i stated in an earlier post. also the two have very similar styles since they received the same schooling.

Why didn't you just say "I dance with HET". Period. What's a big deal? Was all this name calling and dozens of post back and forth really necessary? Every dancer has things they have to work on but you generalized that ZJ has a weak technique, meaning she's a weak dancer. How would you react if someone wrote that about you on a public forum knowing perfectly well it's just not true? It's quite different than talking about a specific problem so I found your statement blatantly wrong and unfair.

I saw Sofiane in NYC twice. Although she's got a larger frame and big muscles her technique is solid and her footwork one of the cleanest I've seen in the younger generation of dancers. I'm talking especially about the HET Sleeping Beauty production on youtube. Your loss is our gain :)

There's no need to be mean about someone debilitating health problem that I don't wish upon you because it'd end your dancing career. In my condition knee cartilage degenerates,or wears away, so the bone underneath gets uncovered and rubs against bone so the knee joint swell and virtually cripple you. Nowadays they give injections but still you can say bye-bye to a professional dancing career.

Again,your general statement about anyone having a "weak technique" = weak dancer. Don't tell me what's common in the professional world cuz if someone's turns are weak, he's not a good turner but it doesn't mean he's a weak dancer or has a weak technique. Just because I don't boast about being taught by the best teachers in the world it doesn't mean I haven't been around the block in this profession. Unlike you, I never post negative comments about other dancers and especially those I dislike.

I barely post, and only when something strikes me very beautiful and hard to pass by without leaving a lil' appreciation nod. Here I saw Fang in person and I admire her classical purity and her special beauty hence this discussion. I won't comment on Kayija's training, promotion or her dancing. One thing is for sure with regards to ABT female dancers-Russians sell the tickets and Kevin knows that.

Performing skills aside, it's also a business move. He promoted Yuriko b/c ABT tours Japan yearly and it's a big money maker. Japanese TV already made a documentary about her when she was still in corpse. Had they travelled to China, then it might have been the opposite. People want to see their own dance. When Kirov came to NYC the entire Brighton Beach flocked to the City Center. Besides that,it's time you guys cut it out. This discussion ran its course.I posted new vids so go watch and enjoy!

the prix de lausane is from ages 15-18 and yes, you do have to compete with all ages between 15-18 years old. Fang was the youngest ever to win the competition

Zhong-Jing won Grand Prix 2000 in the Junior Division---15 to 17 y.olds. Paquita was her second classical variation. You can watch her dance it 2 years later at 2002 Shanghai Competition, which she also won as a senior.

well, each year, the competition selects a few variations and the contestants gets to choose which variation they want to do. most of the times, they tweek the variation so that it fits them better. There are usually no codas. which means no fouettes. ~

Her 2nd classical variation was Paquita. You have "jumps and leaps" there. She did it again during Shanghai Intl. competition and I posted the video of it. So go & check :)

SHE is marvelous. However, this has to be one of the most boring variations ever choreographed, right up there with the two slow fairy variations in the Prologue of "The Sleeping Beauty". Ugh.
