Grew up in OH. I never got a swatch because I spent all my money on records! LOL Bought "Actually" the week it was released. I had a few friends into PSB and that general type of stuff but we were surrounded by acid washed hair band fans and metal heads.

i dunno..i think growing up in the south around scary red neck people, they were the ones who adopted the acid wash thing dayglow thing..and then BOOM you wake up its 1991 and they traded all thier day glow for flannels and toboggins and 4 chrods of misery and dispear...i live outside cleveland ohio currantly, its not paradise but NC is a very backwards place which im proud to not call home..ohio is my home..

This song was so crazy popular when it came out when I was in highschool. It was sooooo eighties. Eighties definitely had a signature sound to it unlike any other generation. My older brothers from the seventies hated eighties music with a passion.

I agree with you hutchisonkh, it seemed that during the 80's the Music was the most important element to a song! Nowadays, artists seems more interested in the Music video while the actual music sounds like crap! The 80's was the Golden Age of REAL music, and Mtv actually showed Music videos!

My High School years were disco.Latin Hustle and stuff like that.But when I went to The Saint with some friends I discovered that I loved any type of music that made me feel good.Though I was in my early 20's when the eighties rolled in it just happened to be the best time for me. In every aspect.This is why at 50 today , when my husband and I here this kind of music we travel back in time when the era of excess really meant to have the best, and this music says it best.

The song was nice. I always liked the beat. I love to accent the guy has which makes the song what it really is. West end girls and East end boys. Where i am from in North Carolina there were two middle schools East Lee and West Lee. I guess the song is saying a west end town full of denim paints on a wall looking for a guy from the east end to take them out. East end is usually the not so good side. So the poor guys were asking the rich girls out in the west end town.
