Realeased in early 1982, the album Mesopotamia was produced by David Byrne of Talking Heads. I remember when it came out, it was an alternative rock hit and a great 3rd album.

I was in a cool record store in Greenwich Village the first time I heard it. Already a fan of the B-52s, it hit me like a ton of bricks...a ton of pink, cosmic bricks made out of moon beams...or something. ;)

One of my favorite bands . Looking back I'm grateful I took the trouble to see these (new wave&punk) bands live. I saw the B52s twice once in Berkeley in 1980 and later in Mesa Az in 1983/4 Their energy still comes through today.
