i am familiar with cordatos' work, he is a very serious historian. i also believe that those who wish to study the aromanian language, should be provided with the opportunity to do so. but some people try to create a problem with such matters and this, may cause harm in the long term. like you said, this is the balkans. and no, i am not Arman. Greeks are greeks, vlachs are something else (romanians), except in Greece. In Greece they were brainwashed by greek propaganda and now they belive the propaganda lies. Go elswere and you will see that vlachs/aromanians don`t say they are greeks. How can they be greeks when they speak a romanian dialect?

the offensive term "colovlahos" hardly ever applies to people of vlach origin. it primarily means the VILLAGER, the PROVINCIAL, in other words the person who due to his comming from a remote village, cannot have the polite manners of a CITY PERSON. it is a rude, stupid and chauvinistic expression but its chauvinism is non-ethnic.

Yes, for vlachs of Greece, but vlachs are not only in Greece, the rest of them, wich are not in Greece, they don`t consider greeks. The vlachs of Greece were brainwashed to consider greeks during decades of abuses, they had to choose: be greek or go in Romania. Some went in Romania, some consider greeks and some died becouse of this, remeber Principality of Pindus. We don`t threat minorities like that. Good luck!

i am not sure i understand the bit about turkey but anyway you should know that only about 5000 greeks live in constantinople; the turks have a way of dealing with minorities which has been proved quite efficient, if you know what i mean...
however the greek vlachs have their customs, sing their songs and speak their language, they even write it, although they use the greek not the latin alphabet. nobody objects to that and denies them those rights.

2.the only thing they don't have, is aromanian schools and that is because the vast majority of them are quite satisfied with things as they are. all this i think is a new issue which did not excist a few years ago. i myself never heard that there was a problem, until very recently on youtube.you must understand that the greek state cannot force a minority status on people who do not see themselves as a minority, by making them accept school lessons they have not requested.

You never wonder why in Midle Ages it was a country called Walachia in modern Romania? Why they are vlachs in all Balcanic Peninsula, but only in Greece they are see as greeks, in all other countryes they don`t? Never ask this questions? We have greek minority and we have aromanians here but aromanians don`t declare greeks but romanians. Greece forced them to declare greeks, who refused was expelt and is this how they migrated in Romania in XX century.

Whould Greece allowed them to consider national minority? I don`t think so, there are not legal minorities in Greece except muslim comunity wich is accepted after a war in 1923. It dosen`t make you to ask why all countryes have minorities and Greece dosen`t? Come on man you don`t have 10 years old.... 1.the authorities who originaly prosecuted bletsas were wrong. if they had ignored him, people with strong opinions on this delicate matter, would not have the chance to try to slander Greece, presenting matters as it suits them. but bletsas didn't stay a single day in jail; his sentence was suspended until he was found not guilty in 2001.

I don`t attack him, i even understand him becouse i have few greek friends and i know what is theyr position about this but they don`t have the all panorama view, they see just one aspect of the problem don`t see in history sinces XIX century. I even understand the aromanians who consider themselfs greeks.
