The best thing about seeing an american idol preform a song from their album is that they actually hit the notes they do on the CD. You know what I mean? Take Ashlee/Jessica Simpson, Avril Laviegn, Hilary Duff, when they have a good note on a cd, they usually can't do it live. American Idols usually can. :) That's the best thing.

I absolutely LOVE Kimberley. But you are wrong...she isn't hitting her own notes. She is singing in a lower key then the recorded version, and it sounds like she is struggling to do even that. I LOVE her, but jeez sing your song the right way, please.

I hate to be rude smithjt1 but it is obvious you no nothing about public performance. Singers, as well as bands routinely sing songs live at a lower key than recorded. For one, it is much easier on her vocal process. Even when not on tour she puts her voice through a good deal of stress meeting various engagements and live performances. Even someone with a rock solid set of vocal chords wouldn't last very long if they sang every song live the exact way they did in the studio.

The same can be said for a significant portion of hard rock bands. They tune the guitars, and bass down 1/2 step (sometimes even a full step) to minimize strain on the vocal process. I just hate how people who "think" they know something can trash someone else when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

I thoroughly echo everything jsbussey said, as he (she?) is completely correct. Furthermore, could the live audience have had any less energy? This could have been a real moment for Kimberley, but the audience was dead. That said, Kimberley Locke is amazing, and I wish she was bigger than she is.
