I am a Tapiocan. Tapioca is a wonderful country, and Hayley is my Sovereign Liege. As for opera, why is it important that it be sung operatically as long as one understands that it is not being done so; a point which you have repeatedly belaboured? Some of us from the middle world just can't handle the straight Bartoli. I'll settle for the wine cooler.

hayley rocks. Point blank. America doesn't usually get people like her who can sing like that and so I like the song and performance. Paul Potts sounds good to me also but to the untrained ear like mine I can only say it's great.

what is lovely about this recording is that it makes no pretense to be opera/operatic. She sings it like a lullaby. Others who profess to sing operatically DON'T and it makes me ill. She is not pretending or overemphisizing her voice to sound operatic. She sings it with her voice and quite pretty. The italian could use some work.

Hear hear damienvargas. I have grown up around opera. I know exactly what's 'wrong' with this performance: I don't care. It still transport me the best way music can. What you call generic and uninspired still makes my heart soar like nothing else does. So shoot me!

She is really good. A beautiful voice and tons of talent. Perhaps she needs to take few lessons to pronounce better the words. The real musing.... music with the capitol M speaks italian because it sounds divine.
