the internet is fucked, you have talks of privatising the internet, allowing company's to decided what is shown on their service. If you don't trust chomsky or think he's naive, just check his sources. Go check the media just before Nafta, go check the media sources during the seventies or check the numerous media studies done on them. For his business comments, all you have to do is read the Financial Times and other business press, they are pretty forthright. What infuriates many is that its hard to find chomsky's 'view', because he's doing critical analysis of things people aren't suppose to analyze-just accept.

I love it, he quotes Adam Smith at 4:48. His views might be extreme, but anybody who borrows from adam smith is ok with me.

Finally someone who can shut Marr up. One thing I like about Chomsky is he gives sources that can be checked and verified (from research to actual government documentation), rather than the hackneyed 'sources say', 'officials say' 'government insiders say' - which is unaccountable - just like our governments.

Marx is my bitch. Jk. "The Reader" is sitting on my shelf. I'm going to read it more after I'm done with Smith for a bit. I still got 900 pages to go on WoN and then there's TMS which is really cool but I've only read a few chapters. Marx is interesting but I don't buy his labor value of prices but I find the market value much more comprehensible, but that's probably just because I've taken more econ classes then political theory classes on marx.

er no...if you ever read or listened to the subject of your criticism rather than making trite replies designed to incense people you would see many of the references are not other writers who share his opinions (often quite the contrary)..You could also try the reams of government documentation for starters, which Chomsky constantly refers to which is available but never reported on...are they opinions?

Well, Marx has the "Theories of surplus value" (don't know the exact Engl. title), which has 4 tomes and was published posthumously by Karl Kautsky. It was nicknamed the fourth part of Das Kapital. Of course it has lots of Adam Smith and Ricardo in it, too.
Here on YT you can find the great brendanmcooney, whose Channel is dedicated to marxian economics. You probably already knew, but it's advisable anyhow.
