CowGirl Bellydance was choreographed for Arabia Adorned Dancers' trip to San Francisco in March 2006. The CowGirl Bellydance is a tribute to the ladies' Calgarian Heritage, and won an award for best dance performance at the Calgary Stampede, the world's largest outdoor country show.

Most people who are afraid of change cannot appreciate a fusion of dance styles or a dancer "going out of the box" to make something original or her own. Just another example of closed minded old fud-duds. Times are changing, styles and races are being fused. You gals look great.

Hi Daphne, I think this dance is really fun - well done to the girls - they must be really fit to do all these fast moves! As a beginner belly dancer from the UK, I've been trying to work out some of the moves in your dance - can you please give me some hints and tips? Wish I lived nearer!!

That would be really great - it's quite a lot of moves, because it's such a fast moving song. They are the moves at: 0.59, 1.20, 1.47, 2.22, 2.45, 2.58 - I did say I was a beginner! How much space have you got to explain! Many thanks for any help you are able to give me.

0.59 - I think you're referring to the 3/4 shimmy scissor step, or 3/4 shimmy front and back step
1.20 - We call those Egyptian Diagonals with a 3/4 shimmy. They're like wearing a stilletto heel on your back foot so your hip goes up on the diagonal (i've also heard them called the lame duck- not sure what you guys call them)

1.47 - that's kind ... ( 5 months ago by dafnebellydance)

1.47 - that's kind of a country step and hip work together. Our feet are going front back front back and our hips are going up up up. (like in a "U" shape)
2.22 - the hip diagonals again on an angle this time
2.45 Countrystyle move. This is the opposite of 1.47. Same foot work but our hips are going down down down this time
