Palestinians wone the other hand were expulsed fron Israeli territory in 1948 and instead of moving on (i.e. the building of a state of their own, a Palestinian State in the West bank of Jordan) most remained in refugee camps under inhumane conditions just because they were brainswashed -and still are- by Arab leaders that they will take revenge and return home with the arab armies.

Israel and Jordania had an agreement to split the territory and there were no significant confrontations between this two armies during the war of 1948 (except in Jerusalem). That of course prevented the building of a palestinian state. Today it's the occupation which prevents it, so neither the proclamation of a palestinian state (within the border of 1967)in 1988 was recognized, nor their attempt to retify the geneva conventions.

Are you sure it's the occupation which prevents the building of a Palestinian state? In the summer of 2000, during the talks at Camp David, everyone thought that Arafat's official goal was a Palestine state in the West Bank and Gaza, with East Jerusalem as its capital. And Barak gave him exactly that. But then Arafat came up with the question of the return of the refugees to Israel (not the Palestine-to-be) and nothing could be achieved. The intifida started two month later.

In the meantime I listened to some lectures of I. Pappe on the internet. His views are very eccentric and unconventional. My feeling is that he probably finds most of his audience among people who are already predjudiced and full of hatred against the Jews. I am not.
This reminds me that the Germans, even before nazism, shared a very widely spread delusion that the Jews were powerful and evil people. I am quite sure that this belief is still widely spread in Germany.

I "feel" that there is a growing tendency to use the most silliest charges of antisemitism to deflect and discredit legitimate criticism of israel and its history. Pappes "views" are based on documents from military archives which have been opened to the public in the eighties.

There is no Jew hatred in Japan. Japanese just don't care. Antisemitism is a Western phenomenom. The books you mention are based on Western writings. Zionism is regarded in Japan as the Jewish longing for a homeland where they would be free of persecution. Dr Pappe talks about "dezionization of Israel", or "one state with one vote per person" instead of a two state solution. He is clearly antisemitic. The fact he is Jewish himself doesn't make any difference.

A one state solution implies that the Jews become a minority in that state. What guarantees will the Jews have that they won't be persecuted again?
I am not in favor nor against expulsion, and ethnic cleansing. I believe that every case should be considered separately. In the case of Israel/Palestine the decision to create to countries was a just decision. And a well organized and supervised ethnic cleansing ON BOTH SIDES of the border is the only way to achieve that.

All I am saying is that if Arafat would have signed the deal in Camp David, in the summer 2000, creating a Palestine nation along Israel, it would mean an end to the problem poverty in the region. The US and the other rich countries were so interested in having a parmanent solution that they were prepared to inject a massive amount of money into the newly born Palestine. Palestinian refugees should be ressettled in Palestine not Israel.

If the Palestinians could not create a state of their own, the first ones to blame are themselves: bad leadership (corruption, religious fanaticism...), lack of education and basic know-how, lack of unity among themselves and plenty of other reasons that have nothing to do with Israel. It's quite the contrary: the existence of such an advanced and successful country like Israel in the neighborhood should be regarded as a blessing for all the surrounding nations in the region, not an obstacle.
