Her visualization of the entire situation through the long introduction (not shown here) is a lesson all actors should be made to watch. Its extraordinary. By the way -- the wry eye connection she makes with the conductor after the slighty missed note in the Lady Macbeth is priceless: as though she were saying: "Hold on, its gonna be a bumpy night. . . !" This is sublime singing - missing ultimate C or not.

(btw the wiry eye comes after the not-sung high C at the end of Tu che invoco and not at the fastly-sung/only-touched-for-a-sec high C in lady Macbeth's aria)

especially this pirata scene is a masterpiece of high art yes... and imagine that it was her last year (1959) with a decent voice and definetely not in her vocal prime
