Bottesini Intro et Gavotte - Test Drive
Pershkrimi videos:Checking my new 7/8 orchestral bass (arms long enough?) and my new analogue camcorder. That is why it is no complete rendition of the piece. It is an old recording, about 1988, in the mean time I have converted to the cello. Perfection was not the goal of this recording, it was a test for both. the bass and the camcorder. And, well, for me...
Because I was solo in some small chamber orchestras, I wanted to get a sound that goes with the sound of the viola section, the cellos, but not a bass sound that sticks out by its harsh sound often heart by orchestral bassists. It was not easy to find a bass that produces a soft and warm sound, but strong enough. The Liebenzeller Gold V rosin did a great job. PS. The shirt over the belt of my trousers is no trademark, but to protect the bass ;-) :-)
