This particular rifle is an Stg 58. It's an Austrian version of the Belgian FN FAL. It should have no problem defeating any body armour that is on the market.

I didn't know about all the markings you just wrote about. On the other hand, the stock, handguard, and flash suppressor are all Stg 58 signatures. Well, since you have the rifle maybe you should be the one who needs to do the research on what you own, my friend. Me, I don't have a clue.

all people i know say its a real belgian made,
ant i think to its belgian made.
fabrique nationale d'armes de guerre_herstal belgique< this means its made in belgium i think.
maybe it looks like an austrian made cos its 30 years old or something?

Ok guys I'll chime in. I'm no expert but, I've got a ton of books and magazines here in front of me. Heres my take. Yes most of the Austrian Stg.58's were manufactured domestically in Austria. The German contract G1 FAL's (Built by F.N. Herstal not Germany 99% sure) look extremely similar to the Stg.58's.

The Dutch forces used a FAL type rifle very similar to the German G1/Austrian Stg. 58, but the Dutch FAL's had a special hooded (covered) front sight. Plus MOST Dutch FAL's were semi-auto only. Now I can't tell from the video but, that looks to me like a hooded front sight. TBC

cont. So my conclusion is; Could this be a F.N. model/display that was shipped to Austria to be copied, and marked either at the F.N. factory or the Steyr factory "Stg.58". Then to display it to the Dutch they simply put on the features the Dutch forces required (such as a hooded front sight) and converted the rifle to semi only. So it was like a "salesman's sample" so to speak. Hey you never know. Its a real mystery rifle.

that i buyed in belgium
so its propebly not used in the
dutch army..but that also
is not for sure..
full-auto mode is disabled
but that can be done for
suvilian use, i dont know
how to see the diffrence.
i,m not sure what a hooded
front sight looks like, :(

I have a Romanian made AK-47 now, I have been looking into a FAL, are they 7.62?, good range? Do they work well with scopes?

yes they are 7.62
up to 300 yards range
if you use a original scope then its perfect
but i dont like scopes, it makes shooting to easy i think.

fabrique nationale d'armes de guerreherstal Belgique means "national factory of warfare weaponry"and the adress is indeed Herstal Belgium. It's been a standard issue gun for the Belgian military in the past but i'm not shure what they use nowadays.
