Attention to everyone karate is a complete joke dont listen to bodokanboy those people did go study cheap karate and felt it was obsolete karate is a lie and a waste of time and money i have gotten in fights with those puthetic karate practitioners and beat there asses in tournaments karate is not a real martial art that is why on almost every tkd vs karate video on youtube karate loses.

really, i don't know, I was thinking that every martial art, every master will first of all teach respect but I can see that there are many black belt (whathever is his martial art) who doesn't even know that this word exist. for those who pretend to be black belt here, I would like to say, you don't desrve your rank (or forgotten that the 1st dan does only mean that you are at the begining of in the way of the martial arts)

For the ignorant dumbshits posting pointless comments about how one sport is better than another; these 'sports' are arts. There is no definite "better" or "worse." To the core, these two arts are two philosophies, and very different arts at that; it'd be pointless to compare the two. Both have the pluses and minuses in a combat situation.

not going to get into a slagging match between styles, but obvious that the wtf guy was knackered from the amount of high kicks,. no plan b.. in ITF tkd the hands are used almost as much, this guy didn't seem to know how to punch.. if he had mixed it up a bit he'd have faired a lot better.. fair play to karate guy he had better tactics,.

i could never do this stuff i lack the control when i need to restrain myself, i go into survival mode and go for the bones. i did try for a while but its not safe in a fight so i have much respect for these guys and peace frog is spot on. and the guy kickin looks like he was far below the level of his opponent in fight ability.

Serkan Yilmaz is an awesome fighter with grace, agility, speed and power. Yet, it would be wrong to say his style is pure TKD. He is a kickboxer who has integrated TKD into his style. I have done the same. After 20 years of TKD, I realized the weaknesses and started incorporating boxing, and other stuff.
Forget about WTF, it is a complete joke in ALL martial Arts circles. ITF presents a more realistic view but truly, one has to integrate and adapt material otherwise TKD won't suffice

Disagree, even Taekwondo is more powerful than karate. I train Hanmoodo, where the basics are almost the same than in Taekwondo, but i can tell that theres lot more contact in TKD than in karate.
