CD Players contain software to control the head movement/UI, and almost completely separate is the digital to analog converter.
The high end CD players contain better DAC's
Alternatively, transfer the audio in digital to the receiver (optical or coax), there is no difference at this point.
Better quality is only achieved if the DAC in the receiver is of good quality.
Without a good receiver and amplifier, it makes no difference what CD Player is used

I just got into vinyl a while ago, only got four 12" albums and six 7" singles so far, I must save up for more :)
I lived in the UK for a while, and they sell new vinyl there so I got alot from there too. Internet's the best right now. (I wonder if it more common to find vinyl in CA?)
Kinda cool too.
