Wow! Summer of 68'. Me and my best buddy were only 8 yrs old sitting on my porch listening to a little transisitor radio. My mom would give us sliced watermelon on hot summer days. Los Angeles Radio AM 93KHG I remember my brother was in Vietnam and we'd miss him so much. Where did the years go???

I've been actively searching for this song - and this version of the song - for over 30 years. I recently heard the song in the soundtrack for "Crazy Love" - my wife thought I was crazy- and many thanks to you for adding it to YouTube - it's fantastic!!

I also looked for a long time for this record and finally found it when I was a senior in high school by simply recording part of it and playing it back to the radio station. It is one of, if not the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It's certainly one of my favorites!

Like many of you, I never knew the name of this song for years, but I'd hear it played every so often on a local "community news and sports" radio station that also played gobs of old musical standards as well. I actually kept a cassette "at the ready" in case it would come on the air, and finally caught it except for the piano intro. Once I learned the name of the song and artist, I tried finding a copy at stores that dealt in old records, no luck. Thankfully we have the web today!

The old WMEX 1510 AM in Boston gave this a lot of airplay when it was first released. It's hard to believe that I was just 14 years old when this record came out. It's one of those songs that once heard is never forgotten and remains in the back of your mind the rest of your life. I play this late at night before going to bed to relax and to remember how it was in 1968.
